New Costume Revealed
Tom Holland is revealing an exciting new look for his character in the upcoming superhero film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. On Saturday, the actor shared a teaser video showcasing his latest Spider-Man costume on the movie’s social media channels.
Teaser Video Highlights
The brief clip begins with Holland’s figure appearing dimly lit in the distance, facing away from the camera as warehouse doors swing open. He pumps himself up by jumping around, buildup to the costume reveal.
“We ready?” he asks with a smile before walking off camera.
Costume Details
Just a day prior, another teaser provided fans a sneak peek at Holland’s new outfit. Together, the two clips confirmed that Spidey’s latest ensemble features a significantly larger spider emblem than previous versions, with more pronounced black webbing. The blue areas of the suit appear darker and more reflective compared to earlier models.
A Return to the Franchise
Brand New Day marks Holland’s seventh appearance as Peter Parker, a role he first took on in Captain America: Civil War in 2016. He has headlined three solo films: Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), and No Way Home (2021), and appeared in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
In No Way Home, Spider-Man made the ultimate sacrifice, causing everyone to forget about Peter Parker to save the multiverse. This conclusion left the character isolated, as he no longer had the support of his friends MJ (Zendaya) and Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), nor access to his high-tech resources from Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). The film concluded with a glimpse of him in a new suit reminiscent of the one seen in the recent teasers.
What to Expect in Brand New Day
In a pre-recorded message for CinemaCon in April, Holland teased the film’s fresh start, saying, “I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.”
Joining Holland in the film will be Jon Bernthal, reprising his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher. Bernthal’s character has a history with Marvel, previously featuring in Netflix’s Daredevil and the standalone Punisher series. Additionally, Stranger Things star Sadie Sink will appear in an undisclosed role, while Zendaya and Batalon are expected to return.
Directing and Release Details
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Short Term 12 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Brand New Day will be the first Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe not helmed by Jon Watts. Fans can look forward to its theatrical release on July 31, 2026.
