Artists Gather for Jubilee Youth Vigil
Pope Leo XIV welcomed a group of artists ahead of their performance at the Jubilee Youth Vigil at Tor Vergata on Saturday evening. He urged them to remind young people that true joy and happiness are found in the Lord.
A Family-Like Meeting
During an informal gathering in Sala Clementina at the Vatican on Saturday morning, the Pope addressed the artists, saying, “I wanted to have this small, let’s say ‘family-like,’ meeting with you this morning, being aware of the beauty, the art, the music—all your talents—that you offer to the great crowd we have here in Rome these days.”
A Call to Serve
He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this mission. “For me, it is a privilege, a blessing to be able to take part in this mission, in this service, as the Bishop of Rome, as the Holy Father,” he stated.
Fostering Common Faith and Joy
Pope Leo XIV highlighted the remarkable attendance of youth from various countries, emphasizing that their shared faith and enthusiasm unite them. He reminded the artists that their contributions not only entertain but also give voice to the deep desires for happiness, love, and faith that dwell in the hearts of the youth.
- He noted that through their God-given talents—music, dance, and art—they help others experience faith.
Apostolic Blessing
The Pope concluded the meeting by imparting his Apostolic Blessing, asserting, “this truly is a gift for all of us and for the entire Church.”
