During the event, Coppola, who recently turned 86, shared personal reflections with the audience. He remarked, “I’m 85,” indicating his awareness of the passage of time. He also spoke about the loss of his wife, Eleanor Coppola, stating, “I lost my wife around this time last year. But my attitude for death is that I always lived my life so that when I was at the moment approaching death, I wouldn’t say, ‘Oh, I wish I had done this and I wish I had done that.’ Instead, I say to myself, ‘I got to do this.’”

He emphasized, “Calabria is a region very famous for its mafia, but that doesn’t interest me. My film instead will focus solely on the beautiful things about this region.”
