Impersonation Incident at XS Nightclub

An impersonator of pop star Justin Bieber took to the stage at XS Nightclub in the Wynn on Saturday night, leaving the audience and headlining DJ Gryffin deceived. The impersonator, identified as Dylan Desclos, has been mimicking Bieber for nearly a decade at various events.

How the Ruse Unfolded

According to Wynn spokesman Michael Weaver, access for the impersonator was granted after what he described as an “elaborate and multi-step ruse.” Once the truth was discovered, Desclos was promptly removed from the venue and banned from returning permanently.

Desclos and his team played on the confusion surrounding Bieber’s recent change in management. His reps reportedly claimed, “We’re new to the team,” to help explain their presence. The deception peaked when Gryffin inaccurately announced, “We’ve got Justin Bieber in the house!” which sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Gryffin’s Reaction

Gryffin later acknowledged his blunder in a social media post, humorously referencing the situation with a clip set to The Who’s classic “Baba O’Riley.” In his remarks, he recounted how “bustin jieber” convinced him to let him perform, stating, “Little did I know I was about to be sorry.” After a brief performance, Gryffin learned the shocking news that he had just shared the stage with an impersonator. “No way!” he exclaimed, recounting the revelation in disbelief.

The Performance and Aftermath

Desclos, dressed in a black zipper hoodie before shedding it during his act, performed to “Sorry,” one of Bieber’s hits, while gold ribbons cascaded over the crowd. He closely resembles Bieber, sporting similar tattoos and a buzz cut, misleading many fans in Las Vegas.

After the incident, clips surfaced showing Desclos walking through the Wynn Encore Esplanade, flanked by security, while posing for selfies. He later posted footage on TikTok, reportedly filmed at Las Vegas Premium Outlets. Some observers criticized his impersonation, with one commenter calling the act “psychotic” for attempting to claim nearly $10,000 in goods from the casino.

Responding to critics, Desclos insisted it was not entirely his idea, stating, “For your information, it wasn’t me who pretended to be the real Justin, it was my team who was behind it.” This comment has since been removed from his TikTok account. Desclos’ manager is currently withholding further comments.

Background on Dylan Desclos

As reported in the Independent in August 2023, Desclos hails from Normandy, France, and has experienced instances of being mobbed by fans mistaking him for Bieber. In a previous interview, he noted, “A lot of people told me that I look like Justin Bieber in the past.” He attributes his resemblance to a combination of physical features and their shared attitudes.

In the end, Desclos’ team accumulated a bill close to $10,000 during their XS visit, which Desclos promptly paid before exiting the premises.
